Wrapping up 2025: Our Impact, Your Support

2025 was a special year for us, in which we marked our 30th anniversary.

The video reflects on LSI’s NGO Platform Meeting in Warsaw, Poland. On 18 September, we had the honour of organising a public event, hosted by the Polish government and supported by the Council of Europe, under the theme: “30 Years of Anti-Trafficking Work in Europe & Supporting Victims’ Rights.” The discussion focused on a crucial question: How can we effectively address human trafficking and ensure that trafficked persons receive adequate protection and support?

Despite limited staffing and the absence of core funding, in 2025 we shaped European and international policy debates on various forms of human trafficking, forced labour and victims’ rights, and collected further evidence via research and exchange, advancing recognition of emerging and overlooked forms of exploitation.

We strengthened civil society space and victim-centred approaches, and bridged grassroots practice with EU and UN policymaking through our advocacy and formal roles in EU platforms.  We ensured that migrant, displaced, and third-country national perspectives were represented in EU debates on migration, labour mobility, and returns. Our members assisted several thousand persons, and we ensured that those most affected by trafficking remain visible.

Concretely we:

  • Worked on 9 research papers, of which 4 were published in 2025.
  • Published 5 LSI statements, 13 joint statements, and 11 publications.
  • Cooperated or coordinated 9 international consortia projects.
  • Contributed to 73 International events and organised 9 events, including 3 webinars.
  • Launched several social media campaigns.
