Last Thursday, marked the official launch of the EU Anti-Trafficking Hub, at the EU Network of National Coordinators and Rapporteurs on trafficking in human beings in Brussels.
Launched on 5 June, the EU Anti-Trafficking Hub is a new platform that brings together expertise to strengthen efforts in combating and preventing trafficking in human beings. The Hub will work in close cooperation with national competent authorities, civil society organisations, including La Strada International, and other relevant stakeholders. It aims to produce research outputs and support the implementation of the EU Strategy on Combatting Trafficking in Human Beings, as well as to contribute to monitoring the EU’s progress in this area.
Among its key functions, the Hub will facilitate the implementation of the EU Anti-Trafficking Directive by conducting research on issues such as labour exploitation, the roles and responsibilities of national Anti-Trafficking Coordinators and Rapporteurs, National Referral Mechanisms, and data collection.
La Strada International looks forward to actively contributing to the work of the new Hub.
