ELA campaign “Rights for all seasons” on seasonal workers

10 july

In June, the European Labour Authority (ELA) has launched an information campaign “Rights for all seasons”. This campaign, to raise the awareness of seasonal workers and the employers hiring them on existing rights, obligations and counselling services, is conducted in partnership with the European Commission, the EURES network, the European Platform tackling undeclared work, EU countries and social partners.

The campaign will run between June and October 2021. Every year, up to 850,000 EU citizens engage in seasonal work in another EU country. Seasonal workers employed across borders are entitled to a broad set of rights, but given the temporary nature of their work, they are more vulnerable to precarious living and working conditions. The Covid19 pandemic has aggravated seasonal workers’ conditions, and exposed them to increased health risks. See more on the campaign https://www.ela.europa.eu/en/campaigns/rights-for-all-seasons
