UK civil society prepared a joint briefing on the Illegal Migration Bill ahead of its second reading of in the House of Commons. The briefing, signed by organisations working across human rights, migrant justice, asylum, modern slavery, and healthcare in the UK, including LSI members FLEX and Anti-Slavery International, collates the insights of this broad range of civil society actors who are concerned
by this Bill, making it simpler for parliamentarians to navigate.
The briefing is divided into sections which examine the implications of the Bill’s clauses from a number of different perspectives. These include human rights, detention, children’s care, modern slavery, access to justice, LGBTIQ+ rights, homelessness, and more.
