International Legal framework Trafficking

Trafficking in persons is an issue of growing concern in the international community, and states and intergovernmental organisations have increasingly become involved in the anti-trafficking debate. Both on national and international level new laws, protocols and conventions have been developed and adopted to combat human trafficking. Important international bodies that have developed binding legislation on human trafficking, are the European Union, the Council of Europe and the United Nations.
