To mark European Anti-Trafficking Day, La Strada Moldova released a statement titled “A New Dimension of Human Trafficking: Exploitation in Criminal Activities.”
The organisation highlights the growing phenomenon of trafficking for the purpose of criminal exploitation, calling for stronger recognition and protection of victims coerced into illegal acts, ensuring they are protected rather than punished.
As part of its information campaign, La Strada Moldova is organising five activities in schools, including three thematic seminars in vocational schools and two workshops for students of pedagogical universities in Chisinau and Balti.
In addition, the organisation will take part—together with its partners, the IOM Mission to Moldova and the Permanent Secretariat of the National Committee to Combat Human Trafficking—in a public art exhibition presenting the true stories of trafficked persons. The exhibition will travel to Criuleni, Ocnița, and Strașeni, accompanied by thematic seminars for local public authorities.
Finally, La Strada Moldova will hold five informative seminars for schoolchildren and university students, continuing its long-standing work to raise awareness and strengthen prevention across Moldova.
