To mark European Anti-Trafficking Day, Accem has launched a new handbook titled “On Route: (Re)cognising, Detecting and Protecting Child Victims of Trafficking”, a practical tool designed to help professionals identify and support children and adolescents at risk of or affected by human trafficking. The handbook is published in Spanish, and an English summary is expected to follow afterwards.
The complexity of human trafficking, especially when it affects children and adolescents, requires specific tools to improve detection, intervention and protection of victims. With this guide, Accem aims to contribute to strengthening knowledge and improving responses to human trafficking, especially with regard to child protection.
This is a practical guide aimed at professionals who work with children and adolescents at risk, with the aim of strengthening their ability to detect and intervene with child victims of trafficking. Teams of professionals who work with vulnerable children are often in a privileged position to observe signs, which is why this guide is mainly aimed at them. Through a ‘journey’, the guide seeks to explore the protective routes that we must put in place to facilitate the detection and access to rights of minors.
The guide includes specific indicators for detecting trafficking in children and adolescents, procedures for action, the rights of minors and young victims of trafficking, and replicable good practices in inter-institutional cooperation, training, child participation and educational innovation.

In addition, on 7 November, Accem will host a dialogue and reflection session on integrating human rights into supply chains in Spain. Aimed at businesses, the meeting will address the challenges and opportunities linked to major sporting events and explore ways for companies to strengthen transparency, sustainability, and social responsibility in their operations.
Prior registration is required to attend the event.
